The Madrona Marsh is a nature preserve set in the middle of a suburban residential area in Torrance, CA. It is home to a diverse area of animals, bugs, and plants both native and nonnative to California. The Madrona Marsh is run by volunteers and is funded predominantly by individual donations. This guide will be exploring the Marsh during its dry summer season when there is little to no water present. The dry season lets visitors explore the Marsh's seasonal paths that would be otherwise be submerged in water and therefore inaccessible. The seasonal paths gives visitors a closer glimpse of the aquatic plant life and the opportunity to see remnants of the animals that are present when the Marsh is filled with water. Despite the lack of water, the Marsh is bursting with life everywhere you just have to know where to look. This guide aims to help visitors to get the most out of their experience when visiting the Marsh during the summer when it is dry. Providing details and information that would not be available if they were to only rely on the posted signage or not being given a tour by a guide. Come explore this slice of nature within the city and understand why thousands of visitors come each year to see the unique nature preserve.

How it works
